Kicking Horse Lodge is a facility that emphasizes safety and was designed with considerations to the spaciousness, open sightlines, and modern safety features to ensure maximum safety and security. 

The building was designed to accommodate residents with severe emotional and behavioural needs that may include physical aggression, runaway behaviour, mental health issues, mental illness, sexual deviance (not sexually aggressive), and developmental delays. 

Kicking Horse Lodge implements daily programming that includes intensive support, supervision, and monitoring in order to provide external controls for residents.
